Construction sealants are electrometric two-part polysulfide joint sealant. The sealants cure to form a firm bond to most command building materials and readily accommodate large cyclical movements over a wide range of temperature. These are widely used as an exposed joint sealant to various types of building materials. However their typical uses are for crack control and sealing joints in:
- Vertical and Horizontal Building Super Structures.
- Subways, Basements, Floors Walls and Roof Coping
- Bridge, Sea Walls and roadways
HOW TO USE
Joint depth/width ration must be 1:1 up to 12 mm wide (with a minimum width of 6 mm). Actual width to be at least 4 times the anticipated joint movement.
PREPARTION
- Surface should be sound, clean, dry, and free from dust or any other impedance to full adhesion.
- Always support by bond breaker, compressible backing strip or other approved backer or filler
- The use of ENISEAL PRIMER is recommended.
APPLICATION
- Mix the entire contents of the two components using a slow speed mixer drill at about 450 rpm. Ensure that air is not stirred into and trapped in the mixture. Hand mixing is possible but not recommended.
- Mask the joint edges and ensure complete contact between the sealant and the substrate by tooling the surface with the flat knife or spatula. This also removes any entrapped voids.
- Masking tape should be removed immediately after tooling.
- Remove uncured sealant with universal thinners.
- The sealant becomes tack free with initial set within24 hours. Full cure properties are generally obtained within 7 days.
- Full curing is required before permanent immersion in water.
